Italian racer provisionally suspended following Enobosarm positive at UAE Tour Women

Italian rider Linda Laporta has been provisionally suspended by the UCI following an adverse analytical finding for Enobosarm, a Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator (SARM). The positive test originated from a sample collected on the opening day of the UAE Tour Women, a WorldTour event, where Laporta was competing for her team. This immediate suspension removes her from competition pending further investigation and potential disciplinary action.

This incident marks a concerning recurrence of SARM positives within cycling, echoing similar cases that have plagued the sport in recent years. Enobosarm, known for its anabolic properties, is strictly prohibited by WADA, and its detection typically carries severe consequences for athletes.
