Filippo Ganna, the reigning Italian time trial champion, commenced his Tirreno-Adriatico campaign with a dominant victory in the 11.5km Stage 1 individual time trial in Lido di Camaiore. Ganna powered to a time of 12:28, securing a significant 28-second advantage over his INEOS Grenadiers teammate Thymen Arensman, who finished second. Max Walscheid (Team Jayco AlUla) rounded out the podium, 31 seconds adrift, underscoring Ganna's emphatic performance.

This commanding win marks Ganna's first individual time trial victory of the 2024 season, following a second-place finish at Étoile de Bessèges. It reaffirms his status as one of the peloton's premier specialists against the clock, particularly on flatter, power-focused courses.
