Scottish brand Intradrive has unveiled its new GD8 system, integrating an 8-speed gearbox and a 700W e-bike motor into a single 4.5kg unit. This compact drivetrain solution is slated for production bike integration by 2027, promising a streamlined approach to e-bike propulsion. The announcement, originating from Singletracks, highlights a significant engineering feat in the increasingly competitive e-bike component market.

This development is noteworthy given the industry's ongoing quest for durability and reduced maintenance in e-bike drivetrains.
